Give Peace a Chance at 40

Today is the 40th year from the first time John Lennon and Yoko Ono released "Give Peace a Chance", a song which was made by them for the US Government to stop the war in Vietnam. "Give Peace a Chance" was the first "solo" single released by a member of the Beatles while the band was still intact, though, technically, the artist was credited as Plastic Ono Band, not John Lennon. It reached number 14 on the pop charts in the United States. (thanks to wiki.)

Truly, John Lennon was a great loss in the music industry. He totally changed the way people think and he radically pushed through for political activism which opened the doors for some changes in the US.

I know there are a lot of Filipino musician activists in the country today I just hope they continue what they are doing by bringing people together and fight for their causes as well as inspire others to do the same thru their songs..

Here's the video of "Give Peace a Chance".

Well I think Francis Magalona is one of the few Filipino artists that had influenced the public. He was the one who instilled in every Filipinos mind to love our country.
