Late Entry No. 2(Written a Month ago)

I never expected to get into another drama again. Well you really can't avoid it, and the best you can do is not to let it be a mental burden to you. I just realized that you can really get involved in an issue even if you are not doing anything related to it.

I am perfectly certain that I and a fellow friend of mine have nothing to do with the issue I am talking about. But we are wondering why the hell is wrong with those people who are treating us as if we don't exist. That is just unfair. What is worst is that when you want to settle things their the ones who drift away and ignore your efforts.

MAY 29

May 29 is going to be a memorable day for me. It's the day when I'm going to bid goodbye to my closest friend way back in college who's going back to UAE and the day when I'm going to welcome the closest buddy I had so far in law school who's coming from his hometown Palawan. Pretty much a coincidence right? And here's another catch. Both of these people have been so close to me to the point that we are seen almost every moment. And the best part of it, I had a very serious misunderstanding with both of them, which really became the talk of the town, well for those close to us at least, because we hardly talk for such a long time. Well the good thing is we're okay now, I guess, though the one with my best buddy in law school is quite fresh, since it happened like a few months ago, but I'm trying to work things out.

Galing-galing talaga! It's like everything in this world is inter-connected! It's like there's a masterplan of your life!

Mall Ratting

May 12, 2008. Today, I was scheduled to meet up with Jay-R who just came back from UAE. I had to go early from our home so I brought with me my Civil Procedure book and read a couple of pages at Seattle's while waiting for Jay-R. When he arrived we decided to have lunch first. I accompany him to stroll around and shop. It was a little bit tiring for me, since I just had less than two hours of sleep and I my muscles are still in pain after a very tiring hike and trek to Pagsanjan Falls last Saturday. But it was fun. I enjoyed talking and listening to him about his experiences at UAE. When Madj arrived we accompanied her to have dinner and then we had coffee at Starbucks right after. At Starbucks, I was like into a spell, I was just listening to Madj and Jay-R's conversation, well if I only have a pillow I could have slept instantly!

Meeting Jay-R was great! I can't believe nothing changed in him, physically and everything else. Well I'm looking forward to more chitchats on our outing this coming weekend!

LAW 2

I am wondering whether it would be good for me to join a new group. It even occurred to me that it might be good for me if I join a fraternity. There are some people in school which I admire in the sense that they exude a very strong, unique, and cool personality. Despite the fact that a lot of people get irritated with them still there's something in them which attracts me. I don't know, but I somewhat agree in one of the laws in 48 laws of power which says that you should be more close to your enemies. It gives us an idea that your friends are more dangerous and have the greater tendency to stab you at the back. A logical reason for this is the fact that your feud with your enemies is quite in the wide open and from the moment the feud arose you have managed to master the retaliation measures and the way you're going to be on the look out all the time. This is not so with respect to your friends, because all along you have somewhat invested in them trust which has all the possibilities of being too dangerous in the end.

There are some things which lead me to this line of thinking, but right now, the time is way too far to make a decision, moreso if I am in a state of confusion as a product of my idleness..

By the way here's Rule 2 from 48 Laws of Power the one I'm talking about:

Law 2

Never put too Much Trust in Friends, Learn how to use Enemies

Be wary of friends-they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact, you have more to fear from friends than from enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.

An unexpected Dinner with Law School Buds

Today is my day. The day of my birth. I thought this would be an ordinary day for me, since I was sick last night, well up to now. But some good things happen in the most unexpected circumstance and places. I never planned for a celebration on the day of my birthday, not until my mom texted me that we're going to have dinner. Mari texted me earlier and asked for my plans for the day, I was a bit suspicious that she has a plan to surprise me. When I arrived at Congo Grille West Gate in Alabang, Nil texted me and asked where am I. Upon knowing that she and Mari is at Festival Mall, I invite them over at Congo Grille. Thanks to Mari for inviting along also Ivan, Kara and Dos. We had a hefty dinner, had a couple of bottles of beer (though I had a couple of bottles already, since I can't say no for the policemen invited by my mom.). We went to starbucks Madrigal right after and chat for awhile.

Thanks to these guys who despite my reluctance to throw a party with appeared and shared with me one of the best nights in my life.

U.S.E.R.

Are we capable of being a user? Consciously or subconsciously, I think we can be. I believe there is a thin line between dependence and using someone. Dependence sounds to be more positive than using. No one would argue that each of us has been used or been depended to by someone, whether or not he/she is a close relative or a total stranger. And it sucks sometimes isn't it?

Now what's the point in writing this? Well, I dreamt of me writing about this and I think it deserves attention and besides I have some issues to talk about. And on that note, let me tell you some of these issues.

A few months ago, I was confused and until now maybe, coz why in the hell I am writing this if not. Confused on whether I am being depended on too much, and worse am I being used. I hardly thought about these things in the past because it's in my nature to be giving and generous on whatever I can share with everyone without having to ask for any return. But when some things happen which shook your relationship with the people you cared for, then it would really make you thinka couple of times whether you're doing the right things and whether you are being abused.

I may now sound that I am invoking 'utang na loob' as we call it. But bad as it sounds, I may be, but isn't it just fair to get some fair share in what you have invested. This I think is not the proper forum for this one, and seriously, I am not asking to get any return, because I don't need any, as cocky as it sounds.

Going back to the issue, and for the purpose of an argument, isn't it that we are all users in this world? Consciously for our own selfish desires we use someone to get whatever we want in life. A deliberate act of using someone whom the latter unknowingly allows in the sense that he/she would like to believe that the user doesn't have such intention.

Dependence may come in the category of 'subconscious using'. When someone depends on someone for anything and he get used to it, isn't that the dependent uses the other? Now, who's to blame in this situation?, the dependent or the person to whom the other depends. Is tolerance a factor on whether we should consider fault on the one being depended to? I believe a lot of factors would come into the scene if we try to answer this question and I think this would be a case to case basis.

In conclusion, we are all users in this world, consciously or subconsciously. No matter how hard it is to accept, we will all be used up. The thing is, its up to us on how to handle the scenario.

It all boils down to dignity. Dignity in the sense that we should as far as practicable examine the situation. Ask ourselves, are we becoming too dependent on someone? Are we using someone for our own benefit? Consciously or subconsciously, intentional or not, it is truly undignified to continue using or depending on someone too much. It makes an inutile not only of the user but of the person being depended to as well. Inutile for the user because he doesn't anymore does things in his own volition or through his own efforts. Inutile for the one being depended to because he somewhat loses his self. In the sense that he appears to be losing something when he gives something which should not be the case, because giving entails some sacrifice of something for something good in return, tangible or not.

BAKASYON NA!! ^___^

At last! The term has officially ended. After the exams in bus. org. Nil, Mari, Hazel and I had dinner at Giligan's. The planned metro bar qc thing was not pursued, instead we went to Tagaytay, with Jamie and Jem (Nil's sister). It was one cool night to remember, Jamie was so funny and Jem was full of stories!! It was really fun sharing laughs and stories with them!!

A lot of things happened for sem that was, but somehow it made me realized a lot of things and learned a lot!

Despite, the stress that the sem gave me, academically and with the relationships I have with others, well I managed to survived and I know that when another school year begins it's going to be back to square one! And definitely when that day comes, I know I will be ready, but for now I should be enjoying the summer!

Holiday Update

12.25.2007 Christmas Day. Went to Calamba in Laguna, my home province to visit my relatives there. I'm happy I got the chance to have a nice time chatting with them. I became a Santa for a day too when I gave them gifts. Well it was really a nice feeling when I get to see my goddaughter Eunice because its like a year ago I think that I saw her.

After my visit in Calamba, went to see Danilo, for a gimik in Alabang. We went to see an MMFF film, along with Lawrence his cousin and Jen.

12.30.07. Post Kanlungan Xmas Party. Met up with Olga in the morning to accompany her in going at Danilo's Crib, where the party is to be held. We were the early birds! haha! After waiting for the others, we had our hefty lunch! After our lunch, we sing our hearts out to the videoke and had a time to reminisce our college days! Everyone was surprised when JR, who is in Dubai right now, called! So we passed the phone to each other and had a short talk with him!

Melvin and Olga went home early, which was followed by Anet and Hapi. Cha, Madj, Jen and I decided to stay and we chilled at the LB Square and after dropping home Cha at their house, Madj, Jen and I decided to sleep over at Danilo's house.

I hope, we could push through with our plan of going back at Balai Beach in San Juan Batangas before Danilo leaves for Australia! Well that's it for now!

Thanks Kid!

I’m quite surprised by a young boy who said to me this: “Pag laki ko magkikita tayo!” I am touched by the way he said it to me which seems he really values the bond we had even if it is only “virtual”.. =]

Kerwin is his name, he is an online buddy of mine in an online game I got hooked into a year ago. The first time I got the chance to have a chat with him, I thought that he is already a teenager, but I was shocked when he called me over the phone, he really is just 10 years old. Why did I think he is already a teenager? Well aside from his excellent skills in playing the game, I noticed that the words he uses when we chat are not different from teeners. He really got me!

I miss his immaturity and tantrums. I remember the times that I intentionally tease him because I know he will surely be annoyed! Well, sorry for that! =]

Kerwin’s a good son. He obeys his parents. He knows when to stop playing the game, and do his homeworks. A religious one also as he gives time to go to their church. I salute the parents of Kerwin for the way they nurtured the good values in him.

I hope he continues to be an obedient son as he grows old. Well I hope I really could meet him someday.
